Savannah and Ryan: An Engagement Story
I would like to introduce you to Savannah and Ryan - a fun, cool and stylish couple.
This is probably my favorite shot of the day. This is the same tree that Ryan proposed to Savannah under, so I thought, hey let's go climbing. Ryan climbed up in the tree and I got on the ground to grab this image. I think this looks like an album cover like the White Stripes meets Rubber Soul kinda vibe. These two are just too much fun!
Here they are relaxing on the steps.
This is their dog LuLu. LuLu was the sweetest little puppy. Everywhere we went people were drawn to her. I think she really likes the attention. This is a shot of her just relaxing. Look at those eyes...don't you just want to pick her up and give her a little squeeze.
This is LuLu yawning. I could tell that I was starting to bore her, so I started to move things along.

Look at the air that Ryan is catchin' here. Even LuLu was impressed. See we don't miss a shot. no we don't. I was walking behind the three of them and I sensed that Ryan was about to jump in the air...I don't know why, I just think that I have honed my photography instincts to such a degree that I can just trust the force. ;) We were taking a little break between setups and as I saw him about to leap, I noticed that my camera was ten feet away on the ground. Most people would just let the shot go by and try to recreate it later...not me baby.
In the split second it took him to leap into the position you see above, I dove ten feet to the ground in a somersault motion, as I rolled back around, I grabbed the camera, checked the ISO (film speed), adjusted my aperture, shutter speed, focused and rolled into position to capture this. All in a split second! Ha!
Anyway, I love this shot because I think they look so cool. Whatuppp!
This was a sweet little shot of them just getting all smoochy.

Is your child America's Cutest Kid?
We are participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for a charity that is dear to us, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Jonathon has been a volunteer member of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep for some time now. “It allows families to honor cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives”. We believe in what they do and decided to get more involved.We’re looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.
Models Search Special:
$59 entrance fee, which includes a 15 minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery. You will also receive a $20 print credit. Sessions must be completed by March 25th in order to be submitted.
Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts. If your child is selected the national winner, you’ll receive many prizes, including a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera.
